Mixed Pepper Pasta Salad

Ingredients:
8 oz pasta, penne, whole-wheat (~2 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 pepper, yellow, thinly sliced (~1 1/4 cups)
1 peppers, green, thinly sliced (~3/4 cup)
1 pepper, red, thinly sliced (~3/4 cup)
1 cup basil, fresh, leaves
3 cloves garlic, minced (~1 tbsp)
1/4 tsp salt, kosher
1/4 tsp pepper, black freshly ground
8 olives, kalamata, pitted, coarsely chopped
Instructions:
Cooking
Cook the pasta in a pot of salted boiling water until "al dente", about 8 minutes.
Drain.
Heat one third of olive oil in a large pan, over medium high heat.
Add the pepper slices and cook for about 6 minutes.
Drain them on paper towels and reserve.
Put the basil and garlic in the bowl of a food processor.
Add the the rest of the olive oil, salt and pepper and purée.
Pour the basil "sauce" over the pasta and toss.
Add the reserved peppers and olives and toss together.
