Ingredients:
  • 1 lb beans, green, trimmed (~82 1/2)
  • 1 tsp canola oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup slices water chestnuts, sliced, rinsed, drained
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, white, toasted
  • 2 tsp soy sauce, low sodium
Instructions:
  1. Cooking
    1. Place water in the bottom half of a steamer and bring to a boil.
    2. Steam the green beans until just cooked and still crunchy, about 4 minutes.
    3. Drain and rinse under cold water.
    4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium high heat and add the red pepper flakes and water chestnuts and saute stirring constantly for 1 minute.
    5. Add the sesame seeds and drained green beans and cook, stirring until heated through, about 2 minutes.
    6. Season with soy and serve.
